Baptism

Water Baptism is the the first of two sacraments listed in the New Testament. Jesus Himself was baptized to ‘fulfill all righteousness. Out of obedience, we follow His example.

When a Christian is baptized they are submerged in the water to symbolize the death and burial of Jesus and are raised from the water to identify with His resurrection.

Baptism proclaims 3 things: “I am a follower of Jesus,” “He has changed me,” and “I belong to the family of God.”

I WANT TO BE BAPTIZED

Baptism is those who have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. For that reason, we want to talk with you before we schedule a day to make sure that there is a complete understanding of what baptism is, what it means, and what to expect.

We have baptism services once a quarter on the 4th Sunday of that month.

WHAT ABOUT MY CHILDREN?

We learn in the New Testament that baptism is a public expression of the new life we have as believers in Jesus. We also see that Jesus’ parents presented Him at the temple, and he was later baptized as an adult in the Jordan River.

Luke 2:22-40, Matthew 3:16-17

We believe baptism is only for those who have made a conscience decision to believe in saving power of Jesus Christ. For our children who are not yet old enough to make this decision, we do offer Family Covenant. Please see our Kids page for more information.
